Last Olympic Points in Yokohama

Yokohama WTS

So it’s finally here.

After two years the Olympic ranking will close and the startlist for Rio be decided.

I joined in late on the chase for points and found myself scrambling to catch up this past 6months. It’s been a phase where every race have been important, on paper easy enough. In real life a true challenge. The fact that life is life and sometimes screws with you makes things more difficult than they have to be. Like running into trees knocking yourself out or getting food poisoning the day before a race.

Still I’m not far off and a good race here would secure my slot, and hopefully my last series of races would have been good enough to impress the Swedish Olympic Committee enough to nominate me. I’m still far from peak fitness and come August I’m hoping to have taken my running all the way back to the level of 2012.

But first – lets get through tomorrow and make it a good one.

I have my boyfriend Calle here with me for moral support and assistance and Leon Spiller who’s physio work hopefully will allow me to function on top tomorrow. Sandy from Specialized is providing the same top notch support as always. Team Sweden has settled in and had a good few days here so far.

I love racing and I love Yokohama.

Yokohama has been very good to me in the past and I’m proud to have come away form here with two wins previous years.

It’s my fifth time I’m racing here and it’s nice to feel like I’m coming “home” to a race site. Hopefully I can add the 2016 edition to another happy memory.
