MRI gave some answers

For you guys wondering what I was up to while the rest of the girls was racing hard in Madrid…
I was back home in Stockholm  trying to work what was wrong with my left leg.
Ever since my first quality session in mid December I have been struggling with a nerve related problem in my leg. And it had been so hard to work out why! I have spent endless time with various physios and therapists, -all trying to find a solution and get me back running hard again.
It wasn’t until I had the MRI done in Stockholm they realized what was wrong. A slipped disc in my back, L3/L4/L5 had caused me all the drama.
The positive news from the pictures was that it looked like it was on it’s way down. Which does explain why I have been able to increase my training load over the past weeks. With the added rehab program it looks like I will be able to come back to race fitness sometime in the (near?) future.
We’ll see.
I’m working hard on doing all small things right. To be particular with the rehab work and keep the work load on the right side of the red line.
Although, I must say I prefer to work hard on killing myself doing hard efforts, or insanely long hillreps, or similar…you get my point.
At least I’m in a very lovely place right now. I have already been around the Davos lake a couple of times. Â Think I’ll have done more laps than I wish for before the summer is over…

I watched highlights of the Madrid event, on TV this morning. Commentator noted your absence due to illness, but didn’t expand. Didn’t realise it was a long term issue. Hope it can be sorted for you soon.

Thanks!
It’s already improving and I’m hopeful to be able to save the back end of the season. I still need to manage myself well, lots of rehab together with a balanced running program. Things are getting better!
