One week of running at 2400m above sea level

It hurts, that’s a fact.
Going out for an easy run is like pushing on threshold back home. Trying to recover running at 150-160 hr is not always easy, but I am a believer that it will make me strong. And slowly slowly the heart rate starts to drop. The body is getting adjusted to the altitude and everything starts to feel a little bit easier. With the pool cleaned and yesterdays session held in the pool instead on the road allowed my legs a whole afternoon to recover. This was gold.
Running this morning was a pleasure and I even had a little bit to offer when Vincent, true Kenyan style, picked up the pace towards the end. Not that I’m claiming any fast running or anything, but at least it took me out of the shuffle. Last week saw a total kilometre count over a 100k’s, the spirits are still high at the camp and there are lots of laugh and good times around the sessions. Maybe I should reschedule the Australia flight… maybe I should just stay up here a little longer..?
